BEFORE I BOOK THE CAR

• How will I know that my reservation is confirmed?

By clicking the ‘Book Now’ at the online reservation process, you will get a successful message that the process has been completed and has been addressed to us. Once your reservation is confirmed you will receive the respective email from our team.

• Is it possible to modify my reservation after it has been confirmed?

Yes, you can modify your reservation by email at naxosrentalcars@gmail.com after it has been confirmed. Please mind that, to enable reservation modification you have to contact us at least 48 hours prior to the pickup date and time.

• Is it possible to cancel my reservation after it has been confirmed?

Yes, you can cancel your reservation under certain conditions. Please consult our cancellation policy.

• Is there a minimum rental period?

Minimum rental period is 1 day.

• Do I have to leave a deposit while I have the car?

Upon your arrival, we need to see a valid credit card on arrival, we will hold the imprint of the card as a guarantee. A credit card is also required for the security deposit of the rental vehicle on arrival. The deposited amount will be completed via a preauthorization and the amount depends on the vehicle model.

• Which documents are necessary to rent a car?

The driver´s original and valid driving license (same applies to additional drivers). Regarding foreign drivers license: We need the license with Latin characters as we need to be able to understand the license. If you do not have a license with Latin characters, please make sure to bring an International Driver´s License/Translation. The information we need are: Issuing date, expiring date, Full name, driver´s license number. A valid credit card is also required.

• Is it possible to rent a vehicle if I have my documents in digital form?

All documents have to be presented in their physical form when renting any vehicle.

• How old do I need to be to be able to rent a vehicle?

Renter must be at least 23 years of age and to have a driving license issued at least 2 year prior to the booking.

• How can I pay for my rental?

We suggest paying with a credit card. If you do not own a credit card, we also accept a 16-digit debit card when you book online. Visa, MasterCard, American Express are valid. A credit card is required, though, for the security deposit of the rental vehicle on arrival. The deposited amount will be completed via a preauthorasation and the amount depends on the vehicle model. Credit and debit cards are accepted for the overall payment, but a credit card is needed for the rental process.

• What is included in the rental price?

Included in the car rental price rate:
• Unlimited mileage
• 24% VAT tax
• Third party insurance (TPI)
• Second driver
• Fuel for the vehicle (gas tank should have the same level as upon pick-up)
• Road assistance
• Pick up / Drop off of the vehicle: At the port, at the airport or at your hotel (the charge is included in the price that is set upon booking)

• Are all foreign driver's license accepted?

We at Mars Car Rental accept all foreign driver´s license as long as they are valid and can be read by our staff members (in English or at least with Latin characters). If not make sure to bring an International Driver´s License/Translation.

How do I choose an insurance?

• What is the 3rd party insurance?

Third-party insurance (3rd.P.I.) is included in all vehicles. In case of an accident the 3rd party insurance covers the cost of the damage you have caused to the other vehicle. For any damages caused to the rented vehicle, you are responsible.

• What is CDW insurance?

In the event of an accident, C. D. W. (Collision Damage Waiver) insurance enables the renter to pay up to a specific amount of excess depending on the vehicle category. The renter is insured for damages to the rented vehicle in the event of an accident, with 600€ (+V.A.T.) excess for group A, B, N and 800€ (+V.A.T.) for group D, K, J.

• What is LDW insurance?

L. D. W. (Low Damage Waiver) is an optional insurance, which you can add at your rental. In the event of an accident, L. D. W. insurance enables the renter to pay up to a specific amount of excess depending on the vehicle category. L. D.W. is a premium insurance option that is available for drivers over the age of 27 and cannot be added online and can be added only upon your arrival and pick-up of the vehicle. • When am I not covered by insurance?

There is no insurance coverage if the driver is under the influence of alcohol, any kind of drugs or commits any traffic violations. The driver is liable for all parking and traffic violations during the rental period. Driving on the sand, at the beach, in dry/salt lakes or off-road is not allowed. Stick to paved roads when driving in Naxos. In case of an accident a police report is required. Please note, that there is no insurance coverage for damages caused to the tires, mirrors, gearbox and the inside and underside the vehicle. Also, there is no insurance coverage in case of losing the key.

  • Do you offer emergency breakdown assistance and how can I reach you? Also, what should I do in case of an accident?

Mars Car Rental offers 24/7 Roadside- and breakdown assistance through our phone number +30 6972690750. Our people have your back in case of breakdown, accidents, damages, or other incidents that require assistance. In case of an accident, call the local police +30 2285 22100 and our road service number +30 6972690750 or the main office +30 22850 22222 and +30 6932339475.

• Can I be sure that the selected vehicle is available?

If the vehicle you selected during the reservation is unavailable during pick up, we will supply you with a similar model. We always guarantee the same, or higher, category. We, however, do not guarantee the brand and model.

• Can I be sure that the selected vehicle is available?

• If I return the car early do I get a refund?

Unfortunately, no refunds can be given for unused, or partly used, car hires unless the amendments or cancellations have been made prior to the pick-up date.

In case of a cancellation, this is our policy:

  • Cancel more than 5 days prior to the rental and get a full refund of the initial deposit made. (100%)

In case of a no-show or last day cancellation, without prior notice, and to proceed with the prepayment charge.

In addition, the company is fully authorized to cease a rental contract without prior notice and without refund, when the renter drives abnormally, when the driving is putting people’s lives in danger or when there is improper use of the vehicle. The driver is liable for all traffic and parking violations during the rental period.

• Can I drive with the vehicle to another place outside of Naxos island?

Driving outside of Naxos territory is not allowed since you do not have any insurance coverage on the ship. Also, in case of a collision you are fully responsible for returning the vehicle at the same condition and at the agreed place and time as will have been stated on the contract. Lastly, in the event of a mechanical problem, we will not be able to assist you and you bear the responsibilities of returning the vehicle at the agreed place and time that have been stated on the contract.
